Warren Sapp the marketing giant

In a career that spanned over 13 seasons in the National Football League, Warren Sapp has done it all. With an incredible balance of speed and strength Sapp became the quintessential “3 technique” defensive tackle, one that even Wall Street took notice of and landed him a contract with the Jordan Brand of athletic shoes. With his oldschool style of tough football would there be any doubt that he would choose to wear Retro Jordans off the field and a pair of retro Jordans cleats on the field. Retro Jordans have become some of the best selling shoes for Air Jordan in part because stars like Warren Sapp have made them so popular. Especially when you get someone like Sapp, who essentially redefined the one gap three technique positions, guys that want to play like him want the same equipment as him. While making a name for himself, Sapp made seven Pro Bowls, won the 1999 AP Defensive Player of the Year award, and led his Tampa Bay teammates to a 2002 Super Bowl win with their dominant defense all while wearing new Jordans. While there may be some people that say that the mercurial lineman was not the most pleasant human being in the world, its doubtless that he played like a monster on the field. Like him or not, he is a shoe in to be a first ballot Hall of Famer, in spite of his personal issues. And young men around the globe will continue to monitor the latest Jordan release dates and buy Retro Jordans to be just like Warren Sapp.
