With more than 22,000 kilometers, or 13,670 miles, of coastline, British Columbia is an ideal spot for fisherman. Spread over 25,000 lakes, rivers, and streams, many fisherman are taking advantage of the vast fishing market and going Langara Island Fishing to fish for salmon. Home of the Chinook Salmon, it is no wonder why these rivers are packed with people looking to score on the vast bodies of water of British Columbia. With salmon weighing over 70 pounds lurking in the deep, blue waters, one can be sure that they are about to be in for the fight of their lives when they encounter the plethora of salmon. There are a few special spots one needs to go to find these fish, however. Among these spots includes the aforementioned Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, Whistler, and the Cariboo Cilcotin Coast. However, the area with the most abundant amounts of salmon, has to be the Cheakamus Lake, located in Whistler. Although packed with steelhead and rainbow trout, this is by far the best area for one looking to score by finding salmon. Other areas abundant with salmon in British Colubmia, are Prince Rupert, the Charlotte Islands, and the Kootenay Rockies. Before fishing, however, fisherman need to get proper licenses, which is required for both freshwater and saltwater fishing in British Columbia. These can be found either online with the BC Government, or through local fishing shops. This is not very expensive, and is a better choice than paying the ridiculous fines that you will be slapped with if found fishing without a license in British Columbia.
