There Is A Consumer Protection Helpline and There Is Consumer Rights Car Insurance

Do you run into some problems when you buy something new and it breaks down? Do you know who to contact because the store you bought it from wont give you your money back? There is a consumer protection helpline that can advise you on what steps to take next. Your the consumer and it doesnt matter what you buy, if you buy it, your always the consumer. There is also consumer rights car insurance coverage. If you have an insurance policy and it states your covered in an accident, and they refuse to pay, then consumer protection comes in. The economy is so bad right now that there are some people who will try to scam an insurance company. They will stage accidents so their insurance will pay, even when there wasnt any accident. So, in that case, you can understand the insurance company not paying. If you know someone commiting an insurance fraud, you can call the consumer protection helpline to report it. If you know of a business committing fraud then you can call the helpline. No one, whether it is a consumer or a business should get away with fraud. Like I said, the economy is so bad, some people are desperate for money, and will go to any length to get it. Consumer rights car insurance coverage is there to protect someone thats in an accident and in most all states, you have to have insurance coverage. If your car is financed, it is the law that you have to have insurance. If you are in an accident, you have to have the insurance to pay for the repairs if your found at fault. As a consumer, you have all sorts of rights. if you buy anything there is an expectation that it will work and do as it is advertised. It goes from toys, to electronics, to cars. If your product doesnt work, then it will either be replaced, or you will get a full refund.

NGO chastised the Government on the Importation of Used Cars

Non government Organizations and environment peacekeepers yesterday rallied outside the Trade Department in protest of the alleged importation of used cars from First World countries and using these as public utility vehicles in the country. The NGO’s also reported that the Budget Department have disbursed enough funds for the Trade Department to buy new vehicles from the local market and that the Trade Department buying the used cars to save funds are all bull and that the signatories will just eventually pocket down the excess funds. The Trade Department defended their decision early, saying that the used cars are still good and have 5 to 10 years of life. The said cars which was bought from the US and Japan, have advanced and high safety technology that are still not available in the country. Buying from the local market would only hamper the advancement that the department is aiming for. The Department is also assuring the people who bought the cars that they can avail of the consumer protection for used cars that comes with buying these cars but have warned the consumers to transact only with authorized personnel or legal government employees. The Senate is now investigating the alleged purchase and has put up legal consumer advices to local government officials around the country especially to the provinces to stop the selling of the 3000 used cars and busses that was disperse by the Trade Department for auction earlier this week. If the Senate found out that there is any illegality on the said purchase, a recommendation for the removal of the employees who are directly involve will be imposed and a jail term will be issued by the court.

Importance of Green Card Renewal

Those who hold a US green card know that it is the legal document that permits the holder to permanently live and work in US and that the holder has been registered as per the immigration laws of US.  This card is valid for ten years and as a rule, the card holder should initiate for the Green Card Renewal process six months prior to the expiry date mentioned therein.

However, there are green cards issued for a limited period under conditional residency terms.  In this case too, attempts should be made well ahead of the card expiry, to remove the conditions on permanent resident status.  This can be done by filling Form I-751 which is a petition to get the conditions from holder’s US residency, removed.

If a person is holding a green card renewal of which is nearing, he will have to fill form I-90 six months before the expiry.  The form can be downloaded from US citizenship and immigration services web portal.

It is imperative to know the enormous significance of proactive and timely green card renewal.   A green card holder who happens to be out of US and fails to renew or apply for renewal of his/her green card may be denied to enter within US as a result of a lapsed and non-renewed green card.  This becomes more important in light of the fact that the card holder has failed to abide by his responsibility to proactively take steps for green card renewal.  In this scenario, the card holder is required to visit the nearest American Consulate or USCIS office in the country he/she is presently located at and inform about missed expiry of green card.

As a different scenario, if the card holder has to move out of US and knows his green card renewal date is approaching within next six months, he should ensure he returns back to US within one year of leaving US and apply for green card renewal on return.

In the event of green card renewal being initiated after the expiry date, the near most USCIS must be visited for completing the renewal formalities.  The supporting documents with I-90 form (for green card renewal) are : photo identity proof, Xerox copies of front and last pages of existing green card, alien registration number, three passport sized photographs and travel documents mentioning departure from US, along with the official fees for green card renewal.

Knowing its importance as a legal document to reside in US and timeline stipulations, one must not refrain from contacting concerned USCIS officials to avoid any hassles and to ensure green card renewal before its expiry.

Staying Out of Foreclosure Might Mean Filing Chapter 13

Staying out of bankruptcy and away from foreclosure should include learning to budget, working closely with the lenders, and being honest with everyone involved. Once it is determined that payment of a mortgage has become a problem contact the lender in order to be proactive instead of reactive. This action shows the lender responsibility of the borrower, thus creating more opportunities for the borrower. Understanding how to budget money in a way that makes money always available for the mortgage payment is necessary for optimal credibility and could possibly stop you from having to file for bankruptcy.Budgeting necessary finances in order to avoid overdraft fees, late fees, and credit bureaus can dramatically change the available money for paying the mortgage. In some cases simply responsibly organizing finances can free up enough money to eliminate the need to help prevent foreclosure. Some banks or credit unions will even pay bills for a person out of their account eliminating the chance of forgetting to pay. Incurring interest on credit cards, mortgages, and loans can account for a large amount of monthly available money. Consolidation of these debts through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and getting on track with money management will all help in stopping the foreclosure process.Refinancing for a better rate, pay off other bills with higher interest rates, or to lower the payment by extending the life of the loan are all ways that help to prevent foreclosure. Paying the lowest amount of interest on any item is optimal. This may only be accomplished by refinancing. There are many options in stopping foreclosure but the few that will stop it for sure are a Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Chapter 7 will stop it temporarily, but Chapter 13 allows the debtor to come up with a payment plan to get caught up.

Finding the Right Lawyer for a Personal Injury

When you’ve been injured due to no fault of your own it may surprise you to discover that the responsibly party doesn’t step up and honor their legal obligation to pay for your medical expenses and lost wages. It is an unfortunate fact that many people simply do not want to take on the burden that they have created for you, whether it is a dog attack or a car accident.

Most of us don’t want to become a part of a long drawn out and expensive litigation process but most of us also can’t afford to lose wages because we are to injured to work or have medical bills that quickly become as high as the national debt. If you have been hurt you need to investigate what your rights are. A Atlanta auto accident lawyer can help you understand if you have a claim and if so what the claim involves.

For example if you are hurt at work you are employer may have you file a workers compensation claim, but that can be a long drawn out process and in the mean time you are out of work, injured, racking up bills with no compensation in sight, and the claim can be denied at any time. Or maybe your employer denies any obligation at all or offers you a small inadequate settlement for medical that won’t cover your losses.

Before you agree to anything or waive your future rights you need to consult with an Atlanta wrongful death attorney that specializes in personal injuries and fully understand your rights. You may be entitled to a claim that includes current, past and future lost wages as well as current and future medical bills for needed physical rehabilitation. Your claim can also extend to your living expenses such as rent and utility bills and food. These aspects are often overlooked by people who are injured and don’t see the big picture, but they are not overlooked by the other parties attorney who may be at the emergency room before you even arrive waiting for you to sign off your rights.

Many times the responsible party will attempt to have you sign a waiver releasing them from future claims and offer a small settlement that may seem big until you start paying medical bills and living expenses from it. Just like your car insurance agency tells you to never admit guilt in an accident, you should also never sign any legal waivers until you consult an attorney. Often times people don’t fully understand that an injury that can appear mild can led to the need for physical rehabilitation to recover from, and if you sign away your future rights to a claim those expenses will come from your pocket down the road.

So if you believe you have a claim, you need to consult an Atlanta personal injury lawyer and discover if your claim has merit and what they can do to help you make it right.

Your Lawyer Can Sue for Uninsured Motorist Benefits

Nowadays, there are a lot of uninsured motorists on our roadways.  They are careless by nature, as they do not even bother to have registered vehicles or insurance coverage. It’s no wonder when they cause a serious car accident, they leave you holding the bag.

If you have uninsured motorist insurance coverage (UM), then at least you have a means to make a recovery for your losses. Contact an experienced personal injury lawyer at the Harris Law Firm today to explore your rights.

UM cases are more complex than a liability case against the at-fault driver.  In a UM case, your uninsured motorist carrier will stand in the shoes of the at-fault driver at trial.

In these accident cases, a serious personal injury law firm will file a lawsuit on your behalf against your own insurance company when they fail to pay you the benefits that you are due.  Many times, your insurance company will assert that they have not denied your claim but, instead, do not value the claim in the same manner that we do.

Your insurance company has a duty to act fairly and honestly while settling your claim; we may pursue your rights with a Civil Remedy Notice of Insurer Violation with the Florida Department of Financial Services.  In certain cases, the Department of Financial Services may fine or punish the insurance company for denying your claim.  After the filing of the Civil Remedy Notice of Insurer Violation, your insurance company has 60 days to pay your claim.

This is not some game.  You need a personal injury attorney who knows what he is doing. Contact the Harris Law Firm today.
